Sailing the Ship of Stewardship, Part 3

What is love? I love apple pie. I love Mexican food. I love my family. I love Jesus. Does love have the same meaning in all these sentences? In the Greek language, the language of the New Testament, there were several different words that are translated into English as "love." We examine four of the Greek words for love and begin to unpack 1 Corinthians 13:1-3.

The Purpose of the Church, Part 11

Sailing the Ship of Stewardship, Part 2

In this sermon, we continue exploring the meaning of stewardship. God has designed His Church to function with diverse members working in unity. The big idea of this message is in order for the body to function properly the diverse parts need to work together in harmony. Unity in the local church is vital. However, unity does not always mean 100% agreement. Listen as we explore 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 together.

The Purpose of the Church, Part 10

Sailing the Ship of Stewardship, Part 1

In this sermon, we begin to sail the final ship--Stewardship. Stewardship is time invested in service. It is the wise management of our talents, treasures and time. Paul’s letter to the Church at Corinth address many of these areas. In chapters 12 through 14, Paul corrects the Corinthians's view of spiritual gifts and the value of each and every member of the body of Christ. Listen as Pastor Chris begins a mini-sermon on 1 Corinthians 12-14.

Sailing the Ship of Worship, Part 2

This is probably one of the most important messages that Pastor Chris could give. In this message, Paul describes how he can have joy despite his circumstances and how that joy connects to worship. This is a must listen.

Sailing the Ship of Worship, Part I

Because the subject of worship is such a misunderstood topic, Pastor Chris is taking two weeks to understand this "ship." This first week is foundational to understanding worship. In this first message Pastor Chris examines what worship is not, worship in the OT, and worship in the NT before attempting a definition of worship.

The Purpose of the Church, Part 7

Sailing the Ship of Ambassadorship

This sermon examines the "ship" Ambassadorship. It is arguably the most important "ship."  Pastor Chris explains that if we do not possess a proper understanding of the Gospel ourselves it will be hard to spread the good news to others. Jesus warned us that people could do works in His name, cast out demons in His name and still not know him. That's a scary thought! However, armed with a proper understanding of the Gospel ourselves, we possess the most powerful antidote to the greatest problem on the planet--sin.
